Privacy
Short version: no cookies, no ad trackers, and I'm not selling your info to anybody. Here's the rest.
Counting visits
I use Umami to see how many people stop by and what they read. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't know who you are. It sees which page, where you came from, your browser and device, your country, and which outside links get clicked – that's it. That's also why there's no cookie banner: there's no cookie.
If you fill out a form
The forms on Talk to Me and Neighborhood send me what you type in: your name, email, and message, plus your phone, organization, or how you heard about me if you add those. I use it to write you back. No mailing list, and I don't share or sell it.
Netlify hosts this site and runs the forms, so your note is saved in my Netlify account and emailed to me from there. Their privacy policy covers that part.
What's not here
- No ad or retargeting pixels.
- No social media tracking. The LinkedIn and Spotify links in the footer are just links – they don't know you exist until you click one.
- No accounts, so no passwords.
Fonts
The fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees that request, including your IP address. If you'd rather it didn't, block third-party requests in your browser. The site falls back to your system fonts and works fine.
